Sherry grew up living in and exploring the White Mountains of New Hampshire before making the Southeast her permanent home. An accomplished outdoorswoman, her passion to share her knowledge and skills has led her to teach survival courses in both South and North Carolina, and even as a guest instructor in Alaska. She has also worked with Venture Scout groups and home-school organizations, fostering a love for the wilderness in younger learners.
These diverse experiences inspired Sherry to open Crossroads Wilderness Survival, LLC, where she now serves as owner and instructor, offering comprehensive wilderness survival training in Rutherfordton, North Carolina.
In addition to her survival expertise, Sherry has been a dedicated psychology professor for 26 years, which brings a unique perspective to her survival courses. Her understanding of human behavior, decision-making under pressure, and coping strategies enriches her survival training, helping students develop not only practical skills but also the mental fortitude to navigate challenging situations.
Sherry joins us with a wealth of experience in curriculum development, program evaluation and a deep understanding of educational pedagogy. She possesses extensive knowledge in policy development and implementation, as well as utilizing data to identify areas of improvement.
